On Eid we saw the release of the latest Salman Khan film directed by Kabir Khan titled Tubelight. The film which is set around the Indo-China war also features Sohail Khan and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu. In this special report we take a look at the collections of Tubelight that released across 1200 screens in the overseas market on Day 16 (Saturday).
The new bollywood release this week also has affected Tubelight movie on box office to some extend. Though new release had made the low start on domestic box office screens. Below is the expected collection of Tubelight movie on 3rd saturday on domestic screens. Even after the end of 2nd week the Tubelight movie had finished with 15 days on box office though having dull earning. As per the report on day 15 as well the Tubelight had done the approximate box office collection of around Rs.1.1 crore on box office.
It is not easy to digest that Salman’s movie has lost almost all its hold over audience in just 2 weeks of release. Tubelight set against the backdrop of Sino-Indian war during 1962. It is completely opposite to Salman’s usual offerings, has no masala and this is why viewers haven’t found it entertaining. Along with Salman Khan, it stars Sohail Khan, Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu, late Om Puri, Isha Talwar and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
In overseas also, the Bollywood offering didn’t manage to bag a big revenue at international box office. Though it received helm response in foreign countries like Canada, United States, Pakistan, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia, the film couldn’t even surpass 200-crore mark. The film is expected to gross Rs 170 crore income as its lifetime box office collection.
