TEPK’s story revolves around a couple’s blissful married life taking a turn for the worse and bringing about a revolution is inspired by these courageous women’s stories of grit, determination and dedication. The story of the film is adapted from a real life one. In 2011, Anita Narre was married into a family in Madhya Pradesh. After marriage, Anita realised that they do not have a toilet at home and defecate in the open.
The trailer of the film showcased the love story between Akshay and Bhumi. The two get married and soon after things aren’t hunky dory between the two as Bhumi realises that there are no public toilets in the village and women defecate in the open. She tells Akshay that she will return home only when the village has toilets.
According to trade analyst Akshaye Rathi, the film will earn about Rs 40-50 crore in the opening weekend.
