The Shree Narayan Singh directed film Toilet – Ek Prem Katha starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar hit screens last week on Friday. The film which apart from being a family entertainer also features a social message opened on a good note with critics and audience welcoming the film. After collecting Rs. 13.10 cr on its opening day, the business of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha witnessed good growth over the weekend thanks to positive reviews and good word of mouth.

Managing to cross the Rs. 50 cr mark on its opening weekend, the film garnered Rs. 51.45 cr within three days becoming Akshay Kumar’s fourth highest opening weekend grosser. While the collections of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha over its opening weekend yet again prove that Akshay Kumar may just be the most consistent and bankable star.
Toilet – Ek Prem Katha registered an 70 per cent occupancy in theatres across the domestic market and collected Rs 30 crore within a span of two days. The film has earned 13.10 crore day 1(Friday) and 17.10 cr. on Day 2(Saturday). Toilet Ek Prem Katha witnessed Fantastic growth on Saturday & Sunday with strong word of mouth. The film has earned Rs 18.50 crore (approx) on its third day, making the total opening weekend collection to Rs 48.70 cr (approx). Now, The film will easily cross 50 crore mark on Monday(day4).
Though the opening weekend collections of Toilet – Ek Prem Katha do no manage to surpass Akshay’s previous releases like Singh Is Bliing that collected Rs. 54.55 cr, Housefull 3 that collected Rs. 53.31 cr and Brothers that collected Rs. 52.08 cr it does manage to out beat the collections of the actor’s other films like Jolly LLB 2 that collected Rs. 50.46 cr, Rustom that collected Rs. 50.42 cr, Rowdy Rathore that collected Rs. 48.30 cr and Airlift that collected Rs. 44.3 cr.
