Bollywood Star Actor Akshay Kumar’s latest outing Toilet Ek Prem Katha has successfully completed its 8 days in theatres. This most awaited movie was released as Independence day special for fans and audience on 11 August 2017, has made fantastic collections at the box office in eight days. Now, Toilet Ek Prem Katha collection crossed Rs 100 crores at the domestic market. It easily crosses Rs 100 crores on 2nd friday. TEPK collected Rs 6 crore(approx) on Thursday, and Rs 5 crore on Friday bringing its total earning to over Rs 100.95 crore.
The film box office journey so far has been fluctuating in opening week. Bagging a whopping business of Rs 51.25 crore in first weekend, Sana Khan and Anupam Kher starrer Hindi celluloid attained good rank in the list of highest earner movies of 2017. Proportional growth in the earnings helped TEPK in acquiring position in the row of hit films of this year.
The movie tackles the issue of open defecation and how an ordinary man goes to every possible extent to better the sanitation facility in his area. Yes, the subject is something which will not attract every sector of audience. But the word of mouth is extremely positive at the domestic box office. The film has clocked 83.45 crores already after a rocking Tuesday that brought in a superb 20 crore, courtesy public holiday of Independence Day.
