Richie is Nivin Pauly’s upcoming Tamil film, which is a remake of new age Kannada crime drama Ulidavaru Kandanthe written and directed by Rakshit Shetty. Directed by newcomer Gautham Ramachandran, Nivin has already started dubbing for the film and the filmmakers released the film’s first look poster.
Nivin’s popularity is not limited to Kerala, with the blockbuster Premam Nivin Pauly established a strong fanbase across states, that has no language barrier. Since then, he has signed quite a few films in other languages and has turned producer, too. Sources say that Nivin plays a rogue Richard in the film, which is set in Thoothukudi backdrop.
Shraddha Srinath of U Turn fame plays the female lead in Richie, the film also has Prakash Raj playing Nivin’s dad while Lakshmi Priya will be seen as a fisherwoman and Vishal’s dad GK Reddy also plays an important role. Based on Rashomon effect, Ulidavaru Kandanthe is about a female journalist who is on a mission to uncover the truth behind an incident, and the story is told in five different perspectives.
According to the latest update, Nivin has already started dubbing for the film and the film is likely to release on May 12th.
