Rajnikanth’s next movie with Kabali director Pa Ranjith will have the backdrop of Mumbai as it is a fictional story of a gangster who ruled Mumbai. The director wanted to shoot the film in the authentic locations and hence chose to shoot in Mumbai rather opt for constructing the sets of the locations.
Ranjith is already in Mumbai for location hunt in Dharavi area of Mumbai though there would be problems regarding managing the crowds in the area. Soon after Pa Ranjith decides the locations and meticulous planning is done about the shooting, Rajinikanth is going to join the team for a month-long schedule in Mumbai. The title of Rajinikanth’s 161st film will be revealed by Dhanush tomorrow at 10 AM.
As per the reports, Huma Qureshi has been signed to play the female lead in the flick. Samuthirakani will be seen in an important role. Pa Ranjith’s favourite musician Santhosh Narayanan teaming up with them again after Kabali. His tracks in the flick, including Neruppa Da had turned out to be a chartbuster.
The upcoming movie is set in Mumbai and reportedly tells the story of a don. There were speculations that Rajinikanth the flick was based on Mumbai’s late don Haji Mastan Mirza. Following the reports, the foster son of the late gangster sent a notice to Rajinikanth asking him not to take up the movie.
