Actor, choreographer Raghava Lawrence has built a temple for his mother in Ambattur in Chennai. The temple will be formally inaugurated by fight-master Super Subbarayan on Sunday (14th May). Raghav’s mother Kanmani is still alive and Raghav may become the first man to have built a temple in memory of his mother who is still alive.
Raghav has tremendous respect and love for his mother and has been often quoted as saying that “a mother is equal to God , but for her benevolence, nobility and kindness, the humanity would have perished”. The temple is part of a group of temples in Raghavendraswamy temple complex. On this occasion, Raghava will distribute sarees to 1000 women and also dhotis to elders.
Senior stunt coordinator Super Subbarayan, who looked after Lawrence and his family during their troubled times in the past, will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Inviting everyone along with their mothers, Lawrence said the temple is a tribute not only to his mother but to all the mothers in the world.
There are many film personalities who do several things for their mothers like starting a charity foundation, launching production banners in their mothers’ names and so on — but Raghava Lawrence has built a temple for his living mom Kanmani and is inaugurating it on this Mother’s Day. The temple is situated near Raghavendra Swami Temple built by him at Ambattur.
