Puthan Panam, the much-awaited Mammootty-Ranjith movie hit the theatres on April 12th, Wednesday. The movie, which revolves around the demonetization and related issues, has been receiving mixed to positive reviews from the audiences. As per the reports of the trade analysts, Puthan Panam has made a decent opening at the Kerala box office, by making a gross box office collection of 1.80 Crores.
The trade experts and makers expect that Puthan Panam will be able to make a decent first-weekend gross collection. As it is the festival season, the movie is expected to get a pretty long weekend run at the releasing centres. Puthan Panam, which revolves around the demonetization and how it affected the lives of the people in the various classes of society, stars Mammootty in the role of Nithyananda Shenoy, a Kasargode-based businessman.
As per reports, this power packed entertainer has recorded the overall occupancy of more than 50% in Kerala and raked the business of total 1.47 crores nett (gross 1.83 crore). Entire team of the film are thanking to audience for such marvelous support. On the next day i.e. Thursday, Puthan Panam has witnessed slightly lesser response because of new Malayalam releases but still stands on top. It has minted the amount of 1.22 crores* as its second day collection from Kerala.
On the other side Mammootty fans are also creating huge buzz about it everywhere and showing immense craze outside theaters in its dominated states Kerala. Being very much awaited and the big Malayalam release of the year, Puthan Panam is getting huge attention of Mollywood audience worldwide. Most of the theaters in states were declared all shows of the film as houseful on Wednesday.
