Podhuvaga Emmanasu Thangam (PET) Live Review, Update & Story: 1st Day Collection, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Hyderbad, Vizag

Udhayanidhi Stalin and Nivetha Pethuraj of Oru Naal Koothu fame have paired up for Podhuvaga Emmanasu Thangam directed by debutant Thalapathy Prabhu. The film touted to be a comic entertainer is being produced by Thenandal Studios Limited banner which was formerly known as Sri Thenandal Films. This is the first time Udhay is acting in an out and out rural entertainer.

Soori is acting as the lead comedian. Veteran actor-director R.Parthiban has been cast in an important supporting character as Nivetha’s father. D.Imman has provided the musical score while Balasubramaniam has done the cinematography. The film went on floors in Theni district during the month of September and now it has been announced that the film will hit the screens on August 11, 2017 for the Independence Day weekend.


Podhuvaga Enmmanasu Thangam film is set in a village, this story is centred around two men, Ganesh and Oothukaattan. Ganesh is an unemployed young man who is keen on working for the betterment of his village while Oothukaatan, a self-obsessed older man, is interested in highlighting his own image. Caught between these two men is Leelavathi, a young woman who has been trying to pass her high school exams for the past four years. Udhayanidhi Stalin plays Ganesh and actor-director Parthiban is Oothukaattan.

Udhayanidhi Stalin plays the role of an unemployed youth named Ganesh in the movie, set in a rural area. He aims to improve the lives of his villagers. Oothukaatan (Parthiepan) is an old man who is obsessed with himself and tries to elevate his image from every opportunity he gets. Leelavathi (Nivetha) enacts the role of an innocent girl whose life is caught between these two people.
