Puri Jagannadh and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Paisa Vasool which did decent collections at the box office on its opening day, saw a steep decline over the weekend. Paisa Vasool collected Rs 14.15 crore gross at the worldwide box office on its first day and it became the second-biggest opener for Balayya after Gautamiputra Satakarani.
Balayya’s 101st action and romantic entertainer collected over Rs 25 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the first weekend and it earned Rs 12.98 crore to its distributors in 3 days at the box office of both Telugu States, Andhra Pradesh and Talengana. This is third highest weekend for the hero after Gautamiputra Satakarni and Legend. According to the reports, the film saw a spike in the number of footfalls on Saturday. Puri’s film has already received mixed reviews from the critics and Public.
The first day obviously was the best but the next two days despite the presence of one holiday didn’t show the required stability. There was a drop on the second day, and the third day, Sunday was also weak. Today, the first Monday the early signs predict a bigger drop.
The performance isn’t surprising considering the form of Puri Jagannadh. As far as Balakrishna goes, he has never cared about hit or flop and is already busy with his next production. It is the fans of the director and the senior star that are disappointed as they feel much more could have been possible with the combination if only some effort were put.
