Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project Padmavati – starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh was slated to hit the screen on November 17 this year. But the makers of the magnum opus have decided to postpone the release date. The film reportedly based on one of the most captivating parts of Indian history will release in February next year, a DNA report suggests.
Also, though a major chunk of the flick has been shot, some of the scenes featuring Ranveer Singh need to be completed. Moreover, the post-production will consume bulk of the time and hence the decision. The film had landed in trouble owing to its content reportedly inspired by Rani Padmini, Rawal Ratan Singh and Alauddin Khilji. The film happens to Shahid’s first venture with SLB while it is Ranveer and Deepika’s third project with the ace filmmaker.
The dates of the lead actors aren’t available according to some reports from Bollywood sources. Then, the post production work would need a major chunk of time to get the desired output for the period film. However, the COO of ‘Viacom 18’ puts an end to the rumours which means that the film might come in time as expected. However, there is no official confirmation, if this Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama will come this year or will be postponed to the next year.
