Nani starrer Telugu romantic drama Ninnu Kori, which also stars Nivetha Thomas and Aadi Pinisetty, has grossed over Rs 25 crore in its opening weekend worldwide, according to trade sources. The surprise element is Kona Venkat, who seems to have come back to form with the film. His writing too, has elevated the film a great deal.
Nani sure has got quite a following in the US. While several of his earlier movies have performed well at the US box-office, his latest release Ninnu Kori is also doing phenomenal business, grossing approximately $785,000 in the opening weekend. Nani is quite a favourite with the Telugu audiences in the US. It’s generally assumed that his films will be entertaining and so, just a good review can do wonders.
As predicted, the Shiva Nirvana-directed film received fantastic response, with many theatres registering 100 percent occupancy on its opening day. Ninnu Kori collected Rs 10.60 crore gross at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie smashed the record of Nenu local, which minted Rs 9.70 crore on its opening day and became the biggest opener for Nani.
Ninnu Kori has been made on a budget of over Rs 18 crore and its global theatrical rights were sold for a whopping price of Rs 20 crore. The movie earned Rs 15.50 crore for its distributors and recovered around 77.50 percent of their investments in just three days. It is expected to return 100 percent of their investments with a small profit share.
