Malayalam superstar Mohanlal‘s patriotic movie 1971 Beyond Borders, opened up with mixed reviews from the critics and the general public. The mixed reports affected the film’s run at the box office on the second day of its release. The film saw a huge drop in collections of nearly 40% on Saturday compared to its Friday box office collections.
In the Kochi Multiplexes, the film minted Rs 6.79 lakhs on the second day with 58.74% occupancy taking total two days collection to Rs 16.88 lakhs gross. On the other hand, the occupancy on the second day at the Carnival Cinemas is too worse as the film only has 39.14% occupancy and it minted Rs 4.24 lakhs gross on Saturday taking two days total collection to Rs 14.29 lakhs gross.
The film released in 173 screens outside the Kerela and it minted Rs 65 lakhs gross on the first day of its release. The second-day collection in rest of the India also seen a heavy drop as it minted only Rs 33 lakhs gross. The total two days rest of the India collection of 1971 Beyond Borders is Rs 98 lakhs gross.

The actor’s fans who kept a lot of hopes on their star to continue his box office dominance with this film too, are hugely disappointed with the performance of 1971 Beyond Borders at the ticket window.
