Standing up the Baahubali storm, Nikhil’s latest offering Keshava is faring well at the ticket windows. After clocking Rs 4.6 Crore gross on first day, which is highest ever in Nikhil’s career, the film’s second day figures too were pretty good. According to BO figures stated by Abhishek Pictures, the film has raked in 3.7 Crore on its second day. Thus taking the total figure to 8.3 Crore.
Even as last week Radha failed to sustain at the Box Office and succumbed to Baahubali storm, Keshava managed to overcome it. Interesting trailers, good promos and decent word-of-mouth is said to be adding up to the film’s BO collections. Nikhil has a set of audiences. Especially, he built a cult following for him after Karthikeya. This has been increased after Eppatiki Pothavu Chinnavada resulting in the openings of Keshava.
Director Sudheer Varma, who made the film stylishly and appealingly, is contented as he overcame his previous failure Dohchay. Meanwhile, producer Abhishek Nama who bankrolled the film is delighted with the way film is being received. As the film opened to beyond the expectations, the team is on cloud nine and planning for a grand success meet on Monday in Hyderabad.
The film has grossed 8.3 crores in the first two days which is superb considering the genre and the star power and seems like Nikhil has grown leaps at the box office. These numbers can be compared to the likes of senior heroes who once ruled the roost in the Telugu states. It will have to be seen how the film performs after the weekend with which it can be gauged whether the film will end up a profitable venture. For now, it is a good weekend for Nikhil.
