Fans have been waiting for Tovino Thomas‘ upcoming movie Godha, which revolves around wrestling. The movie, which will hit theatres on May 19, has got its first review from the director of Ezra, Jay K. A rollicking comedy sports drama with technical finesse and production values. An entertaining watch with gr8 performance from newbie Wamiqa gubbi, Tovino Thomas and Ranji Panikkar.
Directed by Basil Thomas, who anchored the successful Kunjiramayanam, Godha focuses on wrestling. According to Basi, the Tovino starrer will be a different experience for the audience as it narrates the story of a female wrestler. He is all praise for his heroine, Wamiqa and his male lead Tovino.
Tovino Thomas said in an exclusive chat with Onmanorama that Godha is not that wild sportsman story all may expect. “It is a good movie, that no one will regret watching.” Tovino had attended a wrestling camp in Fort Kochi to train for the movie. Punjabi kudi Wamiqa Gabi makes her Malayalam debut with Godha. She acts the part of a female wrestler and it is through her that the story is told.
Godha’s music by Shaan Rahman is already viral online, especially the Punjabi tadka, O Rabba. Basil Thomas retained Vishnu Sarma, who handled cinematography of his debut film Kunjiramayanam, as DoP for Godha. Tovino had done a cameo in Ezra, which was also backed by the producers of Godha. The upcoming film, directed by Basil Joseph, is touted to be an entertainer that has comedy, action and drama.
