Tovino Thomas starrer Godha was released on 19th May. The movie, directed by Kunjiramayanam fame Basil Joseph has opened to positive response from all corners. Both the critics and common audience have been impressed by this fun filled entertainer.
According to reports from trade sources, Godha has grossed Rs 1.21 crores from the Kerala box office. This is a decent figure for a movie sans any big star. Also, the multiplex’s decision to not screen any new releases have had an impact on the initial day numbers. The movie is expected to pick up gradually at the box office thanks to the positive word of mouth.
Godha is a rollicking entertainer with wrestling as the backdrop. Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi has played the female lead’s role of Aditi Singh in the film. Her character has more prominence than that of Tovino’s and she has given a fantastic performance. The other major role in Godha is played by Renji Panicker. Aju Varghese, Hareesh Perumanna, Dharmajan, Harish Perady, Biju Kuttan and many others are also part of the cast.
Godha is written by Thira fame Rakesh Mantodi. The technical team comprises of Shaan Rahman for music, Vishnu Sarma for cinematography and Abhinav Sunder Nayak for the edits. The movie is bankrolled by AV Anoop, CV Sarathy and Mukesh R Mehta under the banner of E4Entertainment.
