Duvvada Jagannadham has decent blend of comedy and action. The movie is a typical revenge story with Bramhim framework woven around it. You might have seen in umpteen movies of protagonist aiming to remove miscreants. Here the hero tries to rescue the investors in Agri Diamond (Thought there are no direct references, you can relate to the burning Agrigold issue in Vijayawada).
Duvvada Jagannadham is coming at a juncture when Allu Arjun is winning accolades for his performances (Rudramadevi) and also for the choice of his films giving importance to mass appeal (Sarrainodu) and entertainment but not forgetting the family audiences (S/o Satyamurty). Coming to DJ, it is critical not because Allu Arjun is in need of a blockbuster but the director of the film, Harish Shankar who faced a setback after the debacle of NTR’s Ramayya Vastavayya, needs one, desperately.
Pooja Hegde added the much-needed glamour quotient which could be one of the attractions of the film to bring youngsters to theatres apart from mega fans provided, the concept of the movie turns out to be engaging combined by a tight narration. One can see all the right ingredients added to this dish called DJ and what is left to see if these ingredients were added in proper proportions to make it a delicious one.
DJ is carrying a terrific buzz among the trade circles and the audience with a solid pre release business in all areas. The impressive trailers and the chart buster audio rendered by DSP have doubled the hype on the film. Allu Arjun ,with his inimitable style as Brahmin caterer who embarks on a serious mission, is said to have delivered a career best performance and Pooja Hegde’s glamour is an added advantage for this action entertainer.
