The Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi release this week, Bank Chor had a poor opening day as it managed to earn only a mere Rs 1.40 crore nett. It looks like a steep ride for the Riteish-Vivek starrer with the Champions Trophy finals on Sunday and much anticipated Salman Khan’s Tubelight, which is set to release next week. The plus side is that the film has managed to recover 75% of its investment from satellite and digital rights due to its banner.
While the comedy-thriller suffered from a poor opening, Irrfan Khan’s Hindi Medium continues to be a sleeper success as it grossed around Rs 45 lakh nett on its fifth Friday, according to reports by Boxofficeindia.com. The film is looking to finish at Rs 63 crore nett. Sushant Singh Rajput’s Raabta crashed out of the Box Office with a business of around Rs 20-25 lakh nett on its eighth day.
Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi both of these actors need a hit very desperately because their last few releases are failed at box office. Also, the female actress Rhea Chakraborty is still looking for the big chance in Bollywood. Overall, Bank Chor is not a very big movie so we are expecting average bucks from this flick after the first weekend of release.
On the opening day, it recorded dull occupancy of 5-10% on 700 screens across the country and raked the business of 1.40 crore. On Saturday, despite being weekend the movie remained slow and collected 1.52 crore. After 2 days, total collection of Bank Chor has become 2.92 crores nett. at domestic box office.
