Bank Chor 3rd Day Collection: Riteish & Vivek Oberoi starrer crossed 4.34 Cr Weekend Collection

Bank Chor starring Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi has collected Rs 3.06 crore in two days. The film will have to do well on Sunday to reach a decent weekend collection. Despite a different, self-deprecating promotional strategy and an interesting pool of acting talent, Bank Chor failed to pull the crowd to the theatres.

The film was released on 700 screens in India. Bank Chor is made on a modest budget of Rs 15 crore including – Rs 10 crore (cost and production) and Rs 5 crore (promotions and advertisement). The team promoted the movie in their own unique way – starting out with making a spoof of the film’s trailer. Riteish Deshmukh while promoting the film earlier spoke about online trolls and social media.

Of course, in terms of budget, Sarkar 3 was much higher and hence the losses were greater as well. On the other hand, Bank Chor is a much smaller film which gives it some sort of a cushion. Still, the fact that it has not been seen by audiences is a hurting factor and now it is staring at a lifetime number too which would be lowest on this list.

2017 has seen five notable releases that have netted less than 10 crores over the weekend. Now, these are the films which have a face value attached to them and were expected to take at least some sort of a start. The least expectations from these were to step into a double digit score after the first three days were through. However, they struggled not just on the first day but also for rest of the weekend.
