In a major shift, the Andhra Pradesh government has allowed the most-awaited magnum opus Bahubali 2 to be shown in 6 shows per day from 7 AM to 2:30 PM, making it valid for 10 days at a stretch from April 28 to May 7. Though 6 shows may not be allowed in Karnataka, the film is certain to evoke full one week rush in all theatres and malls showing it.
Now that AP government has allowed 6 shows per day, Telangana may also allow the same as both are Telugu-speaking states with huge fan base for the film, which has been made in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously by the Telugu film industry with a national outreach with a dubbed Hindi version.
With 6 shows daily for ten days, Bahubali 2 is set to mint hundreds of crores to make the film an instant success in Telugu, followed by its reach at the national level. It is likely to make Rs.1,000 crore in the first 10 days, going by rough estimates. Bahubali 2 features Prabhas as father and son duo of Bahubali and Rana Daggubati as their bete noir Bhallaladeva, fighting for the Mahishmati crown while Anushka and Tamannah play the lead female roles.
Baahubali 2, being touted as India’s costliest movie, is slated for 28th April release. Censor Board cleared the movie with UA certificate and the runtime of the movie is 170 minutes. Starring Prabhas, Rana, Anushka and Tamannah in the lead roles, the movie is produced by Arca Media.
