Baahubali 2 is refusing to slow down at box office and dominating new releases with no mercy. On the 3rd Friday, it’s Hindi version got way better start than the new Hindi offerings – Meri Pyaari Bindu and Sarkar 3. On 15th day, SS Rajamouli’s directorial Baahubali 2 recorded more than 20% of fall in footfalls than Thursday and estimated to collect the amount of 18 crores including 10 crores of Hindi version and 8 crores of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam versions.
For (originally) a Telugu movie, this is a remarkable feat as hardly any Tamil flicks themselves have made Rs 100 crore at the box office!. The film opened in more than 6500 screens in India with another 2600 screens overseas. The screen retention rate for the first week continues to be more than 80%. Since there was no big release scheduled in South and North India on 12th May 2017 Friday, almost 55% screens in the domestic market retention during the following week as well.
The movie has now emerged as the biggest grosser of all time at domestic as well as worldwide box office. With it’s Hindi version alone, it has surpassed the lifetime record of Aamir Khan’s Dangal (387.38 crores) on domestic box office. After the 15th day, total domestic collection of Baahubali 2 is likely to become 818 crores with 400.25 crores of Hindi and 417.75 crores of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
After two weeks, the box office collection of the movie stands at massive 388 crores. The all India collection of the movie is around 800 crores. Talking about the worldwide collection, the movie has grossed around 1200 crores. Baahubali 2 flick to topple the box office collections of Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which stands at Rs. 387.34 crore.
