Even after a month of its release, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is going strong at the box-office. The film’s Hindi version raked in Rs 504 crore in 41 days of its release. The film is continuing its triumphant run despite numerous releases in domestic and international circuit. So far it minted an estimated Rs 1022.50 crore (cumulative figure of all languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam) making it the biggest blockbuster of all time.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was premiered at the British Film Institute, and was theatrically released over 9000 screens worldwide on 28 April 2017. Baahubali 2 was the first Telugu film to be released in 4K High Definition format. It is estimated that close to 200 screens are being upgraded to 4K projectors before the release date of the movie.
SS Rajamouli’s directorial registered the second highest week-6 of all time in Hindi cinema after Anil Sharma’s Gadar- Ek Prem Katha. It collected the business of total 11.50 crores domestically in the 6th week, that included 5.35 crores from Hindi and 6.15 crores combined from Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam screens. In it’s early weeks, Baahubali 2 was ruling over the box office and fetched the incredible business of 1007.10 crores.
The recent release Hindi Medium starring Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar emerges as the 2017’s most successful film till date. Interestingly, Hindi Medium that has an opening weekend to lifetime multiple of 4.67 ranks higher than the Hindi version of mega grosser Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, which takes the second spot with a multiple of 3.91. if that wasn’t all, the Hindi version of The Ghazi Attack too finds a rank among the top five. In fact with a multiple of 3.03 it has seemingly fared better than the Varun Dhawan – Alia Bhatt starrer Badrinathi Ki Dulhania and the Akshay Kumar starrer Jolly LLB 2 that have multiples of 2.71 and 2.32 respectively.
