As the cast and crew of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion bask in the glory of its unprecedented success, the film is still working wonders at the box-office, even as it enters its sixth week. The Hindi version of the SS Rajamouli film garnered around Rs 3 crore over the weekend, thus taking the total collection to an estimated Rs 502.94 crore.
The film made around Rs 70 lakh on Friday, followed by Rs 1 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.25 crore on Sunday. The film’s Hindi version has now amassed Rs 503 crore nett in 38 days, and an overall total of Rs 1050 crore nett approx in all languages. While many new releases in Bollywood and Hollywood are struggling for decent numbers, this film starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati is standing its ground and garnering decent box office collection.
Especially for the Hindi version, one also has to give good credit to Karan Johar and Anil Thadani (of A.A. Films) for presenting and distributing the film to the kind of scale that has been unprecedented. Just in the Hindi version Baahubali 2 released in over 4000 screens, something that only a Khan film has seen so far. As for the all India presence across languages, the film arrived in around 7000 screens, something which has never happened before in the history of Indian cinema.
The film is all set to release in China, after the massive hit of Aamir Khan’s blockbuster film Dangal. Our distributor, who had also released Dangal, PK and Baahubali: The Beginning in China, is working towards the release at the earliest. It should take a couple of more months. No date has been firmed up yet, Yarlagadda told IANS.
